Let's get to know each other...

A little about my personal astrology, and some astrology resources for you to look in to.

Hey friend,

Have I mentioned that I’m glad you’re here? I don’t want to come off too overly enthusiastic, but it feels really good to be talking about this stuff in an organized way. So don’t mind me acting all giddy over the fact that you jumped in on this newsletter.

Anyway – since you’re new here, I thought I might take a moment to introduce myself, and share a little bit about who I am based on one of my favorite tools for self-study and understanding, Astrology.

Hi, I’m Alex, and all I really want is to use my magic to help you see yours.

Heart-Centered Entrepreneur, Business Owner, Teacher, and Writer.

Let’s talk about my big three — my sun, moon and rising sings.

Now, I’m no expert, but I have been paying attention to astrology since I was a kid. Growing up, my dad used to read out everyone’s horoscopes from the paper on Sunday mornings. (His: Scorpio, my moms: Sagittarius, big sis: Capricorn, little sis: Leo, and me: Aries). For me, it was cherished family time, and it built the foundation for my life-long relationship with astrology.

Of course, I now know that the sun sign only offers a snippet of information from the stars. Knowing your big three can give you so much more.

From what I understand, the Sun represents your ego — who you are naturally, especially when you’re operating from a place of ego.

The moon represents your emotional self, and how you see and understand yourself when you’re alone or with your most trusted friends/family.

The rising sign represents how you want to be perceived and how you present yourself to the public.

My big three are as follows:

  • Aries Sun in the 12th house

  • Pisces Moon in the 11th house

  • Taurus Rising, in the 1st house.

But what does it MEAN??

I’m an Aries, so I am child-like by nature. I’m also a self-starter and a go-getter with a whole lot of energy and enthusiasm. Buuuuut, with my Sun in the 12th house, my personal identity is heavily influenced by the things that the 12th house rules, like magic, spirituality, dreams, and all things mysterious.

My Pisces Moon speaks to my empathic side – my bleeding heart and my sensitivity to other people, energies, and the world around me (emotionally, physically, and spiritually). My moon is in the 11th house, which is all about friendship and community, and probably has something to do with why I’m so desperate (uh, I mean EXCITED) to connect with others in relation to these magical and mystical topics…

Speaking of which, don’t you find it fascinating that who we are as people and how we experience life is basically written in the stars (I mean, if you believe in that sort of thing)?

Astrology isn’t for everyone, though. Me personally — I’ve always struggled a bit with trusting myself and who I am (thanks Pisces moon 😓 ). Astrology helps me remember who I am when I’m not under the influence of other people’s opinions or energy, and for me that’s powerful.

Have you looked into your personal astrology? If you’re on a quest for self-understanding, it can be a super valuable tool. Or if you’re trying to get on the right track in life and you don’t know where to begin, astrology can help with that too.

If nothing else, it can give you that really nice dopamine hit associated with external validation. It may offer answers as to why you’re so drawn to certain things, and even point you in the right direction in terms of your career.

If you’re interested in diving a little more deeply into your own astrology, try The Pattern App, or another app called Time Passages. These are really great, mostly free resources for digging into your astrological chart on your own. Explore the apps below and dive in to see what you can learn about you.

If you’re new to astrology, please note that in order to get the most value, you will need your time of birth. Ask your parents, consult with your birth certificate, or if you don’t have either at your disposal, call your birth state’s office of records and request an official copy of your certificate. I think it costs $30.

If you have the extra cash, I suggest booking a reading with an astrologer. There is no comparison to receiving a professional reading from someone who knows their stuff. I highly recommend Ashley Tracey, who you can connect with virtually; or go ahead and do your own research to find an astrologer you resonate with.

As a final note, if you are someone who has never resonated with your astrology, then you may want to consider looking into Vedic astrology. I’ve been learning a little bit about it lately, and it may have answers for you regarding your misalignment with your own astrology.

That’s all for now! Talk again soon.
